I get a lot of questions about how to make a nice bed, so here I have put together my 5 best and easiest tips on how to get a nice bed.
1. Double blanket
It is both cozier, more luxurious and nicer to have a large quilt than two. So you think about which one to take, choose one! It becomes easier to make a bed, without ugly joints and according to Feng Shui, it envelops the duality and favors love.
2. Bedspread at the foot end
A bedspread that does not go over the entire bed but only up to about 1/3 of the bed gives an inviting and luxurious feeling.
Finish off a neat stretched bedspread at the foot end with a casually thrown plaid. Can be the hardest thing to get nice, hehe…
3. Headboard
Having a solid headboard always makes it nicer to bed against, plus it feels dignified to have something nice to lean your head against when reading. A headboard also softens with its textile and the fabric can change the room in an instant.
4. Ornamental pillows
There are two ways to make a bed, using an even or uneven number of pillows.
Even number
Having even numbers gives an orderly impression. I think the best thing here is to either have two solid pillows 50 × 90, at the back and then continue working with two 50 × 60 sleeping pillows in front of them, or more if you want it (see above).
Or you have two 50 × 60 pillows that you place on top of each other. It gives a stricter impression and creates a clean hotel feel.
Uneven number
If you instead choose to work with an uneven number of pillows, it is nice to start with 50 × 90 pillows at the back, and then work your way forward with the "sleeping pillow" and maybe a decorative pillow after that and finish in the middle (join the sides) with a pillow of another shape, round or oblong, or why not a pillow with a fun pattern? More pillows, but also a little more inviting and luxurious feeling.
5. Frame the bed section with a rug
Finally, I have said it before and say it again. It creates a framed effect and gives a wonderful grand feeling if you have a rug under the bed. Either you have a rug that starts 1/3 part under the bed, or why not throughout? Then it will be nice to put the waterfalls down on something soft when you get up on a chilly autumn morning.
Good luck with the bedding!
